Posted by Michael Larabel on July 06, 2010

As the first stable open-source ATI X.Org driver update since the release of xf86-video-ati 6.13.0 back in April, David Airlie has today announced the immediate release of xf86-video-ati 6.13.1. This new driver update while a stable point release update does bring some notable changes.

Worth mentioning for the xf86-video-ati 6.13.1 driver release is X.Org Server 1.9 support, Evergreen (ATI Radeon HD 5000 series) 2D acceleration being explicitly disabled, KMS uevent + sync support, color tiling for R300 through R500 ASICs, X-Video cleanup, and many bug-fixes for different ATI Radeon GPUs and other areas like large vertex fixes.

The release announcement plus change-log for the xf86-video-ati 6.13.1 stable driver update can be found on the X.Org mailing list.
