LG Electronics is joining the likes of Intel, AMD, Hitachi, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, and many other hardware vendors that are corporate members of the Linux Foundation.
The
Linux Foundation press release is rather brief, but basically LG Electronics likes Linux and it's of value to them (this though is of no surprise to us, as some of their engineers also use our
automated testing software), so now they're formalizing that by joining the pact with the Linux Foundation. LG is becoming a "silver" member, which is the Linux Foundation's lowest tier, and puts it with Dell, Adobe, ARM, Toshiba, DreamWorks, and VMware, among others.
LG is also participating in this week's
Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit. This year's summit is taking place in San Francisco.
