NVIDIA Releases New X.Org DDX Driver

Posted by Michael Larabel on December 15, 2009

Only 11 code commits have been made to the xf86-video-nv driver (that only touch about 100 lines of code) since the 2.1.15 driver update back in September, but coming out this afternoon is xf86-video-nv 2.1.16.

The xf86-video-nv 2.1.16 update now provides mode-setting support for the new NVIDIA graphics cards released over the past few months, including but not limited to the GeForce 310, GeForce GT 220, GeForce GTX 295, GeForce G 103M, GeForce GTS 250M, and various other ASICs. There are also some fixes for X Server 1.7, but the xf86-video-nv driver doesn't even work with X Server 1.7 / X.Org 7.5 right now due to color-map setup changes.

Those interested in the xf86-video-nv 2.1.16 announcement can find it on the X.Org mailing list.
