KDE Puts Out Software Compilation 4.4 Beta 1

Posted by Michael Larabel on December 04, 2009

The KDE development community this morning has announced the release of KDE Software Compilation 4.4 Beta 1. This previously would have been known just as K Desktop Environment 4.4 Beta 1, but the rebranding took place. Anyhow, the 4.4 release of KDE carries many Nepomuk search improvements, further polishing to the Plasma desktop, various new applications (for blogging and scientific purposes), the KDE development platform brings the KAuth authorization framework, and there are many other improvements to a horde of KDE packages.

The KDE Software Compilation 4.4 Beta 1 release announcement can be read at KDE.org. The final release of KDE Software Compilation 4.4 can be expected by February.
