NOUVEAU --
It's been another exciting weekend of Mesa development activity by the independent developers working on the Nouveau driver for open-source NVIDIA Linux graphics support.

Besides the Nouveau-led work on the Mesa state tracker compute shader work that landed today, new patches were volleyed onto the mailing list.

Nouveau contributor Samuel Pitoiset who has been working on the compute side of things had sent compute state support for GM107. GM107 is the codename for the GeForce GTX 750 series. He followed that by a patch for enabling compute support on GK110 and newer. However, for now that compute shader support is hidden behind the NVF0_COMPUTE environment variable. So with this environment variable enabled and running on the bleeding edge stack, compute shader support could be enabled for Kepler and Maxwell (GTX 750 series). The support though is hidden behind this environment variable since in its current form this compute support may end up breaking 3D support.

Meanwhile, another well known Nouveau developer, Ilia Mirkin, sent out his second version of shader image support for the Mesa state tracker. This is important to go with the OpenCL compute support for many real-world workloads.

The weekend is not over yet so it will be interesting to see what else might land on Mesa-dev or in Git with less than one week to go until Mesa 11.2 is branched.
