Linux 2.6.28-rc5 Kernel Released

Posted by Michael Larabel on November 16, 2008

Development on the Linux 2.6.28 kernel is slowly winding down and as a sign of that, Linus Torvalds has released Linux 2.6.28-rc5. The changes in this release are scattered across the board in the form of fixes and documentation work. There is also some driver and ACPI updates, which of course excites us hardware geeks.

In the Linux 2.6.28-rc5 kernel is also a minor ATI and Intel updates to the kernel Direct Rendering Manager, but not much churn in this release candidate with the recently merged Graphics Execution Manager. The release announcement and short change-log can be read at LKML.org.
