New Features, Games Coming To CrossOver

Posted by Michael Larabel on July 04, 2008

CodeWeavers, the company behind the WINE-based CrossOver Office, had introduced CrossOver Games as a gaming-oriented version of their pay-to-use edition of WINE. When CrossOver Games was introduced it only officially supported a handful of games: EVE Online, Guild Wars, Half-Life, Steam, and World of Warcraft. However, a post on the CodeWeavers blog by Stefan mentions that this software will be seeing a few improvements this month now that CodeWeavers has shipped CrossOver Office 7.0.

Over the coming days they are looking at address the HTML and GuildWars bugs that are present in the latest unsupported build of CrossOver Games and then they will turn their focus to getting a new build release and supporting new titles. This new build will be based upon the WINE 1.0 code-base and some of the games they are looking at for some Linux loving are Lord of the Rings Online, City of Heroes, Call of Duty 4, Age of Conan, and Half-Life 2.
