It appears that later this month Intel will be announcing a new technology that will be open-source. Phoronix has been invited to an Intel party where this technology will be unveiled. This party and dinner consists of an insider group of bloggers and journalists in Portland, Oregon during
Ubuntu Live and
OSCON 2007.
While what exactly is being launched is not known, from the information provided it is an open-source Intel technology that may deal with optimizing your software to take advantage of multiple computing cores (perhaps similar to
Pervasive's DataRush for Java). Next to the party information was a paragraph entitled
enter a parallel universe that described simplifying your workload, allowing for better performance, and being agile enough for the most inventive applications. Intel's Director of Software Development, James Reinders, will be there to describe this new open-source innovation.
Stay tuned to Phoronix as we share with you from Portland's Jupiter Hotel what this innovation is all about.
