ATI 6.6.3 Driver Released

Posted by Michael Larabel on October 04, 2006

The open-source Radeon drivers for X.Org have reached version 6.6.3. This release features a major bug fix for regression in M6/M7/rn50 devices and a number of smaller fixes. This release is being nominated for X.Org 7.2 and David Airlie has made the driver available for X.Org 7.1. These open-source drivers do not support the Radeon X1000 series. Airlie also mentions that he is working on getting Randr++ support into master branch, driver support for external TMDS transmitters, and support for dual-link DVI monitors. David's blog entry can be found here. For the latest on the official ATI fglrx drivers, our 8.29.6 review can be found here.
