Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft Beta 1

Edgy Eft -- the codename for the Ubuntu 6.10 cycle -- has finally reached Beta. Ubuntu 6.10 Beta 1 delivers GNOME 2.16.0, X.Org 7.1, OpenOffice.org 2.0.4 RC2, and the usual assortment of other packages. Kubuntu and Xubuntu are also coming out with their 6.10 Beta 1 candidate.
