Rahul Sundaram has volleyed the likely to be controversial discussion whether Dash (the Debian Almquist Shell) should become the default shell for a future release of Fedora, which is already packaged in the Fedora repository but is not the default. The push is that Dash or even mksh might offer better security for its users than Bash. Debian/Ubuntu first went with Dash for its /bin/sh for script execution over its faster script execution to enhance boot times of the distribution.
It's too late for this to happen for Fedora 21 but if getting the interest of enough Fedora stakeholders could potentially be approved by FESCo for Fedora 22 in 2015. The thread has been started within Dash as default shell.
