Linux 3.15-rc7 Kernel Released Back On Schedule
Just a few days past the abnormally long Linux 3.15-rc6 kernel, the Linux 3.15-rc7 release just took place to put the Linux 3.15 kernel back on schedule.
Linus Torvalds noted, "It's just a few days after -rc6, but as expected, there were some pending stuff for when I got back home, so you should think of this as being the "normal" release, and rc6 just having been oddly delayed by my travel. The bulk of this is (by far) the networking changes (mostly drivers), since most other trees had synced up for rc6, but there are various smaller things in here too: drm, scheduler, perf, nfsd, afs etc."
The Linux 3.15 kernel overall is coming along well although some regressions have been noted within the Linux 3.15 kernel testing. The final Linux 3.15 kernel release will likely come around the first half of June. Stay tuned for further Linux kernel benchmarking on Phoronix.
