Mesa's code-base has been branched for Mesa 10.2 followed by the releasing of Mesa 10.2 RC1 and bumping the version of Mesa Git master to Mesa 10.3-devel.

Ian Romanick of Intel on Friday night issued the first release candidate of Mesa 10.2, which should be released around the end of the month. I've already written dozens of articles about Mesa 10.2 on Phoronix and early Mesa 10.2 graphics driver benchmarks while in the weeks ahead will be some concise recap articles along with comparative benchmarks of this three-month update to the open-source OpenGL library and drivers.

The brief Mesa 10.2 Release Candidate 1 announcement can be found on the Mesa mailing list. At least one more RC will be issued prior to the official Mesa 10.2 release.

Mesa Git master is now tagged as Mesa 10.3-devel for new developments leading up to the next release in three months time. Should there be full OpenGL 4.0 support within the next three months, Mesa 10.3 will be renamed to Mesa 11.0.
