GNU Binutils was updated this morning and some of the major changes for these binary tools updates include supporting several new processors.

Among the new CPU/architecture support in Binutils 2.24 includes supporting the Texas Instruments MSP430X, Altera Nios II, V850E3V5, and Imagination Technologies Meta.

The other changes to the components of Binutils 2.24 appear rather small in nature and just a random assortment of work beyond allowing the tools to work on new processors.

More details on the GNU Binutils 2.24 update can be found from the project page and Git repository.
