Google Joins Board Of Open Invention Network
Google has announced today that they have joined the board of the Open Invention Network, the organization that tries to protect open-source software via a patent cross-license for Linux and related open-source technologies.
The Open Invention Network continues to be available to anyone or organizations that agree not to assert their own patents against Linux. Google has long supported OIN but they have now become the organization's first new full board member since 2007.
For those interested in more details, Chris DiBona has shared more details via the Google Open-Source Blog.
