For those curious how the KDE libraries are going to be modularized by KDE Frameworks 5, there's a new article at covering the changes.

The KDE libraries are still being re-worked into a set of cross-platform modules that will be available not only to KDE developers but all Qt developers as well. This KDE Frameworks 5 transition has already been happening for more than two years and the first preview version is expected to arrive this December.
