With evidently restoring his workstation, Linus Torvalds made a Git commit on Wednesday evening that stripped the kernel of its mockery "Linux/Windows for Workgroups" logo and changed the codename to "Suicidal Squirrel."
Linus also acknowledges there will be no "Linux 95" release for quite some years.
The Linux 3.12-rc1 release isn't yet available but will be expected in the coming days. If you're not yet familiar with the many new Linux 3.12 kernel features, read this article. We have also already begun delivering Linux 3.12 benchmarks but many more are on the way.
Overall, Linux 3.12 "Suicidal Squirrel" should be another very exciting kernel update!
