Embedded AMD Catalyst 13.3 Linux Driver Released

Posted by Michael Larabel on March 10, 2013

AMD has released a new Catalyst Embedded driver for Linux systems prior to calling it a week.

On AMD's web-site they have published the Catalyst 13.3 Proprietary Linux Graphics driver. This driver is offered from the embedded area of their web-site, but it works with desktop Radeon/FirePro graphics cards too. However, the "embedded" drivers tend to go through less QA and testing than the normal Catalyst driver releases.

No change-log for Catalyst 13.3 Embedded has yet to be published, but chances are it just consists of bug-fixes and other minor work without anything too exciting and still too early for any X.Org Server 1.14 support. Those interested in fetching this new AMD binary blob can find the download link from this forum thread.
