VMware Updates Its DDX To Version 13.0.0

Posted by Michael Larabel on January 16, 2013

Aside from the load of miscellaneous X.Org package updates, VMware has released updates to their important X.Org driver components for input and graphics when it comes to Linux guests on their virtualization products.

The xf86-video-vmware 13.0.0 DDX driver was released on Tuesday afternoon by Zack Rusin of VMware. The xf86-video-vmware 13.0.0 release supports the X.Org Server 1.13 ABI finally. Aside from the ABI bump support, there's various bug-fixes over xf86-video-vmware 12.x.x.x. The release announcement for the VMware DDX graphics update can be found here.

On top of the xf86-video-vmware 13.0.0 update, xf86-input-vmmouse 13.0.0 was also released per this release announcement. This VMware mouse input driver update brings X.Org Server 1.13 fixes plus various other fixes, but nothing too exciting to reflect the major version bump.
