Posted by Michael Larabel on October 02, 2012

After being in alpha for a while and then beta since August, MythTV 0.26 was officially released today.

The key features for MythTV 0.26 include HTTP Live Streaming playback, a recording rule template, "Themers" can now replace schedule options with new widgets, and duplicate checking / limited matching optimizations.

Other changes to this popular open-source Home Theater PC (HTPC) software include a conversion of internal times to UTC, a complete rewrite of the RAOP server used for AirTunes/AirPlay handling, allow themes to customize caption/sub-title formatting, and Mythlogserver is a new program for handling all log requests.

More changes for MythTV 0.26 are covered by the Wiki release notes. MythTV 0.26 can be obtained for Linux as source from MythTV.org.
