An alpha release of the Tizen 2.0 SDK with source-code was released this week.

Among the features to the Tizen 2.0 Alpha are an enhanced web framework with better HTMI5/W3C API support, advanced IDE/SDK for web application development, and a new Tizen Platform SDK that helps platforms based on OBS. The enhanced web framework for Tizen 2.0 includes a multi-process WebKit2-based Web Runtime, new HTML5 features like video subtitles/captions, a battery status API, screen orientation API, and other new tag supports. The web framework also now supports new Tizen Device APIs for file transfers, notifications, and power control.

More details on Tizen 2.0 Alpha are available from Tizen.org.
