If you didn't hear yesterday, DRI3 was planned out and it all came together on the fly after developers began talking of a "Direct Rendering Infrastructure 3" while enjoying beers the night prior.

Keith Packard and Eric Anholt began the DRI3 talk and other developers have expressed their ideas as steam around this infrastructure improvement to X.Org begins to rise. DRI3 will improve the window resizing process, improve security a bit, utilize DMA-BUF, and much more -- if all their plans materialize. DRI3 will make the X.Org Server more Wayland-like, until Wayland is actually ready to take over the Linux desktop.

Embedded below is the video of the developer discussion that took place on Wednesday afternoon about DRI3. Further DRI3 discussions are expected to happen on the developer mailing list in the coming days/weeks.
