Workspace Support for Wayland's Weston

Posted by Michael Larabel on August 29, 2012

Patches have emerged today that provide support for workspaces with Wayland's Weston compositor and default shell.

Jonas Ã…dahl published a set of six patches that provide support for workspaces on Wayland/Weston. The patches provide a sample implementation of workspaces for the weston.ini configuration file, support for moving surfaces between workspaces with the Weston shell, a workspace manager interface, improved focus handling, and other changes needed to make workspaces on the Weston shell a reality.

Those interested in checking out the patches prior to them being merged in the Weston repository can find them on the wayland-devel mailing list.
