A Second Snapshot Of X.Org Server 1.12

Posted by Michael Larabel on December 18, 2011

One month has passed since the first X.Org Server 1.12 snapshot was released, but now a new development version has landed.

This second development snapshot of the next major X.Org Server release doesn't yet integrate X Input 2.2 with multi-touch support, but that work is expected to be pulled this week after the patches were recently published. X.Org Server 1.12 Snapshot 2 though does bring some input clean-up and other changes in preparation for the landing of the improved input support.

As soon as the X Input 2.2 extension is pulled, the merge window for this next release will close. There's also a few other outstanding patch-sets that are still being evaluated for integration into the 1.12 release.

X.Org Server 1.12 is expected for release in March.

The change-log and source package for this new development snapshot is available from the mailing list announcement.
