A Journal Comes To systemd

Lennart Poettering has announced a journal feature for systemd.

The new feature to systemd is the "journal", which for providing new system logging functionality. From a quick glance, a replacement for syslog.

There's a very lengthy design document about the systemd Journal on Google Docs for more information.

I haven't had time to look it through yet, due to in the midst of catching a flight, but feel free to express your thoughts on this new systemd feature within the forums.
