While this year's Google Summer of Code has long passed, the KDE development community is now once again starting the Season of KDE 2015 as an initiative to get new developers involved with KDE projects.

Season of KDE is a GSoC-inspired outreach program that's less constrained and allows new developers to get involved with different projects. There are KDE mentors and more to help new developers get started and Season of KDE isn't limited to just traditional students.

However, unlike GSoC or even the female-focused Outreachy that pays out a few thousand dollars to get developers involved, finishing Season of KDE will just net you a t-shirt and certificate, plus any benefit to your CV/resume.

If you're interested in possibly getting involved with Season of KDE, the application period has started and you can learn more at dot.kde.org.
