Igalia's Samuel Iglesias Gonsálvez has updated his 28 patches for ARB_gpu_shader_fp64 support for Intel Ivy Bridge hardware that in turn allows these older Intel graphics to have OpenGL 4.0 support.

The 28 updated patches provide ARB_gpu_shader_fp64 so that IvyBridge can have OpenGL 4.0 compliance similar to the work previously accomplished by Igalia for Haswell OpenGL 4.0+ support. With the v4 patches, more of the code has been cleaned up and the only major missing feature is register spilling support.

These updated GL4 / FP64 patches can be found via the Mesa-dev list. It's not yet clear though if these patches will be all tidied up and reviewed in time for merging ahead of next month's planned Mesa 17.1 branching and release. Hopefully this will happen for benefiting those on this generation past Sandy Bridge hardware.
