PHORONIX --
OpenBenchmarking.org, the cloud component to the Phoronix Test Suite for providing a centralized results storage location for analysis as well as hosting all of the test profiles and test suites so they can be downloaded independently of the Phoronix Test Suite version, has reached a new milestone. Just moments ago, OpenBenchmarking.org crossed the threshold of delivering 22 million test profile and test suite downloads since the Phoronix Test Suite 3.0 premiere in February of 2011.

In the past six years our open-source benchmarking software has facilitated now the download of more than 22 million test/suite downloads, not counting the number of tests executed in total or the actual number of test installations performed due to the various caching techniques for benchmark farms living offline / behind-the-firewall (as is usally the case at IHVs and ISVs), etc, so the actual total is much greater. It was just back on 9 December we crossed 21 million test/suite downloads so basically in about two months is the current pace for seeing one million test and suite downloads using our cross-platform, open-source benchmarking software. For 2016 we were at about eight million downloads in total.

This milestone is breached as we approach the Phoronix Test Suite 7.0 "Ringsaker" release in the next few weeks for further advancing our open-source benchmarking software. Contact us for any commercial support needs, custom engineering, etc. Individuals wishing to simply say thanks for our Linux / BSD / Solaris / macOS benchmarking work can support the cause by joining Phoronix Premium or a PayPal tip.

I'll be enjoying some cold Augustiner tonight to celebrate this latest milestone, but for now back to benchmarking (some fresh Windows vs. Linux OpenGL/Vulkan benchmarking this weekend) and continued development of PTS 7.0-Ringsaker. Those wanting to see the latest OpenBenchmarking.org statistics can swing by the site for the latest numbers.
