Phoronix IRC Log: 2010-10-28

unomi: So torn :(
unomi: Buying a new setup soon, was very keen on full AMD, hopefully with eyefinity
unomi: but it looks like nvidias cards are more useful on linux?
s_20: unomi: everything is more likely to 'just work'
unomi: http://superuser.com/questions/95884/ati-eyefinity-under-linux then this needs to be updated
unomi: s_20: ah, you mean with nvidia?
s_20: i do
unomi: I have a philosophical preference for amd, but..
unomi: its ironic that intel has such good drivers under linux, but not such great parts
s_20: it'll never cease to astonish me how they make one crappy GPU after another for nearly 10 years now
s_20: you'd expect them to come up with something semi-decent at least *once*
s_20: but oh no..
