Kano: michaellarabel: routing seems to work, no idea what caused the problem last night...
michaellarabel: kk
christian_lappy: michaellarabel: is unengine games opengl >= 3.x only ?
Kano: checking phoronix-test-suite.diff:
Kano: 22 files changed, 192 insertions(+), 99 deletions(-)
Kano: but still that on phorogit...
Kano: christian_lappy: for tesselation you would even need 4
Kano: because the ati hack which worked before was eliminated
christian_lappy: Kano: is tessalation maing such a huge diff in the look that it is worh upgrading my gtx260 to gtx 460 ?
Kano: http://kanotix.com/files/fix/heaven/
Kano: those pics i made with my old 4550 and the ati hack
Kano: look at the upper right side with fps ;)
christian_lappy: lol, superfast :-)
christian_lappy: do you think esalation is worth upgrading ?
Kano: well now i have a 5670 for testing, but thats not really fast
Kano: nobody wanted to send me a gtx 460 or better yet ;)
christian_lappy: hehe
christian_lappy: would you upgrade from a gtx260 to a gtx 460 ?
Kano: no idea, i only have got a 8800 gts 512 as fastest nv card
christian_lappy: ah
Kano: michaellarabel: you still did not fix git
dandel: Kano, the 5670 should be much faster than the 4550 you had.
Kano: dandel: not really much
Kano: it is still slow with tess
Kano: 12 fps with opengl/win7 or 16 with linux @ 1280x1024 only
Kano: 17 with dx11/win7
Kano: is that fast?
dandel: i see around 30fps with 1280x1024 and tessellation enabled.
Kano: not with a 5670
Kano: i used a i5-680 or i7-880, it was no cpu problem...
Kano: where do you see 30 fps?
Kano: without tesselation?
Kano: that could be possible
dandel: kano, that's on the dx11 benchmark.
Kano: not with tesselation
Kano: with a 5670, thats no 5770 or anything faster
dandel: http://a.imageshack.us/img697/913/00001kh.jpg (a bit old, but point proven)
dandel: http://a.imageshack.us/img510/6472/00000hh.jpg (another older benchmark, this time opengl and no tesselation)
dandel: Although, i normally run at 1280x1024... i'll redo the benchmark with 1920x1200 when i get a different display.
Kano: can you READ
Kano: hd 5700 series is usually 5770
Kano: definitely not hd 5600 series
Kano: if you send me a 5770 then i can test it too
Kano: but my card is a 5670
bkero: 5730?
bkero: wants some sandy bridge goodness
bkero: Thinkpad X202s
Kano: there is only a 5750 + 5750 for desktops
Kano: next is 5830
Kano: 5770
michaellarabel: Finally, all Phoronix articles are now done through 1 Oct.... Only another couple more articles to get done by next week.
