Kano: hi dandel
riisen: :o
dandel: hey Kano
dandel: i'm having to talk the guy through how to submit a proper bug report (although he's the type who will just expect things to plain work and is a windows user)
dandel: specviewperf9 and 10 are large tests 0o'
Kano: well i only wanted to add that hack for lucid
Kano: hi michaellarabel , how about replacing phorogit soon?
Kano: checking phoronix-test-suite.diff:
Kano: 17 files changed, 183 insertions(+), 91 deletions(-)
dandel: michaellarabel, can i suggest manually adding th e download and compile of libglew from source over relying on the package managers, because some nasty bugs appear with older versions of libglew.
michaellarabel: dandel: Do you have a patch to do all that? :)
vtorri: michaellarabel: ping
gj1006: Any News about Steam for Linux?
monreal: gj1006: http://games.slashdot.org/story/10/08/23/1237200/Steam-Not-Coming-To-Linux
riisen: http://www.valvesoftware.com/job-SenSoftEngineer.html <-- why doesnt they change it, if they not going to linux ? o.O
adrian_broher: dedicated servers don't develop themselves
adrian_broher: and this document sounds more like it is intended for the steam infrastructure
sado1: wow has its linux version too.
sado1: but non-public
sado1: lol nvm, I can't read
dandel: michaellarabel, i'd say it's about time to do an obituary style news post for UT3 on linux and see what happens.
gongoputch: hey, I know what will make ZFS go fast! Porting it to linux : https://linux.slashdot.org/story/10/08/27/2259253/Native-ZFS-Is-Coming-To-Linux-Next-Month !!!
gongoputch: I bet once it runs ion Linux it will benchmark faster than anything else
gongoputch: except BTRFS
bkero: gongoputch: still not gpl'd
gongoputch: bkero: ah, I guess that would make it benchmark worse
