cowoods: Hi. I have an xrandr question. Please let me know if this it the wrong channel. I have Fedora 13 install on a laptop with a montior plugged in. By default the LVDS and VGA are shown left right or each other on the same desktop. However the usability is not very good as the LVDS is the primary interface and everything needs to be specifically dragged over to the VGA. Is it possible to use xrandr to configure LVDS and VGA to be different desktops?

cowoods: The best solution I have found so far is to disable the LVDS and just use the VGA1 only. The other option is to clone, but that has the downside of lower res on the VGA.
Ivanovic: i don't think that there is some way to have different "virtual workspaces" of your DE on different displays (as in "workspace 2" mapped to display 2)

It's like some surfaces aren't repainting when they are supposed to be, for example when you unminimize thunderbird there are sometimes grey/black boxes that, if they are buttons, go away when you hover over them (forcing them to repaint)
