Kano: hi michaellarabel
michaellarabel: Hi kano
Kano: dont you think the article was a bit too positive? fglrx is still the best gfx example driver how something should not be done
Kano: and usually to some degree it is certainly the fault of the manager
Kano: "All of this though has changed with AMD now providing same-day Linux support" - is that ment that it is good that you need to wait for the linux driver until the win driver is out or should hat mean that current hardware is supported since day 1 - which is definitely not true for hd 5 series, especially hd 57*
Kano: i remember a chat with him about the rendering problems of gl2benchmark. it took more than 6 month after that till a fix was released
Kano: thats fast
Kano: any news about who is responsible now?
monreal: Regarding the GNOME 2.29 news: has there been any announcement that gnome 2.30 will in fact be 3.0? At this point I very much doubt that this will be the case
Kano: michaellarabel: do you know isohybrid mode?
Kano: michaellarabel: http://kanotix.com/files/fix/update-isolinux.sh
Kano: that that script on your iso
dmb: Kano, how did you find out about sed-ing the unsupported logo?
dmb: Kano, also, it doesn't seem to work all the time
Kano: dmb: i removed the control file and found a way to remove it ;)
dmb: for some reason, when i run openarena, it comes back
dmb: or zsnes
Kano: ah
dmb: or i guess anything that changes modes
Kano: maybe we need to disalbe the disable calls too
dmb: heh, i could try disassembling
Kano: use the same command but with
dmb: and give myself a headache trying to figure out the jump for the drawing the image
Kano: DisableLogo instead of EnableLogo
Kano: on the already patched file
Kano: then kill x
Kano: well there is a load logo too
dmb: ok
hvgotcodes: has anyone got suspend/resume working with fglrx?
Kano: dmb: did you try yet? currently i do not like to kill X ;)
dmb: Kano, i will soon, have to finish something up before i restart x as well :)
Zohar: does phoronix do custom hardware jobs? i want to get coreboot on a mobo
