iswanto: hi i'm a new phoronix-test-suite user
iswanto__: hi, i found this error when installing phoronix!
iswanto__: Fatal error: Class 'GtkWindow' not found in /usr/share/phoronix-test-suite/pts-core/objects/gtk/pts_gtk_window.php on line 23
iswanto__: I mean when I tried to open phoronix-test-suite in gui via terminal
michaellarabel: iswanto__: you need PHP GTK installed
isi: does somebody know if there's something like gpu scaling in fglrx?
blackorca: Is there any reason not to use "jiffies" as the clocksource for linux?
Azerthoth: because thats a fairly long hike to the right of the decimal point and you would need something along the lines of a cesium clock to sync
blackorca: the only reason I ask is because all the hardware (I think they're hardware) timers (hpet, tsc, acpi_pm) cause problems
blackorca: I have no clue why these don't work (more info in a second), but jiffies seems to fix the problem
blackorca: Using a timer frequency of 1000 HZ, doom 3/quake 4/prey (basically the games that use the doom 3 engine) have severely degraded performance when using the tsc/acpi_pm/hpet timers
blackorca: Even at 250 HZ, the performance is not what I would expect from my hardware
blackorca: FPS fluctuates rapidly from 20-60 FPS and it's nearly unplayable
