Xerran: Hello all
Kano: hi michaellarabel
fragile: good morning guys
Kano: bbl
Kano: hi michaellarabel , do you have got some pts compare urls for i7 and pts 2?
michaellarabel: Kano: Yes, I'll PM it to you
Kano: i have got a really fast cpu with 3800 mhz now to bench against *g*
bkero: vroom
bkero: has run PTS2 against his i7
bkero: Kano: If you'd like, I can clock my i7 down to 3.8 so we can do(presumably) an AMD vs i7 comparison.
Kano: i7 down? what speed do you use now?
Kano: i have got a s775 quad@3800 mhz
bkero: I'm running it at 4.6.
Kano: default is?
bkero: 2.66, I don't know
Kano: 920?
bkero: It's Yea
Kano: well i could boot with 4.1,but my cooler is not enough for that
Kano: only a simple freezer 7 pro
bkero: Ah, I'm under custom ater.
bkero: *water
Kano: i prefer air
bkero: I prefer ln2 :)
Kano: but you could do some benchmarks if you like and i test my system against it. best no compile benchmarks, as they are not really valid
bkero: Actually I prefer these cool phase change heat sinks that I got to play with at Intel.
bkero: Sure, I could. I'd be running it off my OCZ Throttle 32GB ESATA flash drive, 3.8GHz i7, 6GB, Ubuntu 9.10(probably), 8800GT
Kano: i use of course kanotix
bkero: lol
Kano: as 31 has a problem with kdesu and pts uses that i have to use .30
bkero: Fine, in that case I'll use my Gentoo install on an OCZ Vertex Turbo :)
redeeman: vertex turbo?
bkero: Yea
Kano: maybe i get extra 4 gb soon then i could run most tests fully in ram ;)
bkero: I'd have to get another 6GB pack to do that.
bkero: I could do 3GB system RAM, 3GB tmpfs, but 3gb for rootfs is kind of small.
Kano: you can raise tmpfs uing remount
Kano: the default of 50% is stupid
bkero: I always use -o size=
Kano: yes
Kano: if you want to compare it i can give you my system that i will use too
