michaellarabel: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=NzM5Nw
Ivanovic: looks like they are making it a really huge beta test group
Ivanovic: (as in: basically everybody who really wants to play this game can do so)
Kano: hi redeeman , whats the highest speed you pushed your intel quad?
Kano: i have got a new one. 3800 mhz so far
Kano: prime stable for 2h
Kano64: CPU[Quad Intel Xeon X3380 @ clocked at 3800.325 Mhz] Kernel[Linux 2.6.31-4-generic x86_64] Up[-1min-] Mem[-270.4/3961.3MB-] HDD[-760GB(78%used)-] Procs[-167-] Client[Konversation 1.1]
rainbyte: hi, sorry, how much memory do you think Xorg has to use?
rainbyte: here is using 856mb out of 2gb with fglrx 9.6
rainbyte: i think that something is wrong
rainbyte: mmm, I will try with xf86-video-ati
evocallaghan: michaellarabel
evocallaghan: If you want xserver releases to come out on time you should call for a unification of the main parts
Kano: hi michaellarabel , thx for the game key, but i dont get yet how to play the game, i always die, even on a beginner server *g*
evocallaghan: The current development model is *why* it never comes out on time..
evocallaghan: Kano: If your distro on distrowatch ?
evocallaghan: s/If/Is/
Kano: it was
Kano: but dev isos are not mentioned there
evocallaghan: Kano: Ours seems to be one the waiting list: http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=AuroraUX
Kano: i think i filled out all packages + versions once manually then it got listed
evocallaghan: There submit form does not work
evocallaghan: They only take emails
evocallaghan: someone from #auroraux emailed in.
Kano: yes, for the announcements you can mail distrowatch
evocallaghan: It prob should have been done long ago..
Kano: usally it is quoted then or they take it from your web page
Kano: i have got enough users even without distrowatch announcement but for a new distro it definitely is good to be there#
evocallaghan: yea its listed here: http://distrowatch.com/weekly.php?issue=20090622
evocallaghan: Ah yes
evocallaghan: We are innovating many fundamental changes, takes a little more time then your ave. 'distro'
evocallaghan: bye Kano
gentooer: anyone know what the minimum opengl requirements for this Heroes of Newerth game?
gentooer: I'm guess it won't work on my intel 945gme..
Kano: no,but it runs with a 8800 gts 512 ;)
gentooer: that's nice.. :(
Kano: did you try it?
maligor: anyone want a key?-)
maligor: I have one left :P
Kano: i gut one
Kano: but i dont get the game ;)
gentooer: no, figured i would find out if it would work first
maligor: yeah, problem with it is that it seems to be fully of jerks
maligor: anyway, I think it requires opengl 2.0
gentooer: thanks, i figured judging from the screenshots
Kano: i would like a new panzer game, that was much easier to play
netsurf3: hey has anyone got the heroes of newerth beta key?
netsurf3: i just recieved one but i get an key not found error
asraniel_: hi there. from what ive seen phoronix is quite into getting games to linux
asraniel_: and i don't have a forum account, so i post it here
asraniel_: Natural Selection 2 might come to linux ( http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/ ). The devs always said they develop the stuff multiplatform. They are a little studio and nothing could be heard about the linux port for some time now, and i hope they don't cut it for cost reasons
asraniel_: i'm pretty sure phoronix with their contacts could push them in the righ direction
netsurf3: asraniel_, yeah i had a look too
netsurf3: LGP said they had began inital contact i think
asraniel_: ah that sounds very good
asraniel_: i REALLY hope that it comes to linux. natural selection 1 was IMHO one of the best games ever (no really, i mean it). and since apparently they planned to do the port, it would be a shame if because of lacking resources it wouldn't get done
