Locky281: does anybody just quickly know how to instal virtualbox guest additions on opensuse 11 before i go googling?
Locky281: the .run file says unsupported x86 environment even though i'm running the amd64 run file
Locky281: ugh just ignore me guys, forgot i was using 32 bit iso :S
evocallaghan: Locky281:I though the new vbox supports both amd64 and 32 in one installer?? atleast it does on solaris host.
Locky281: thanks evo, but it was a pebkac problem, i was trying to install 64 bit guest additions into a 32 bit guest
Locky281: I've used the right guest additions installer but now it's bringing up an error re opengl rendering
Locky281: but that's for another night, gonna boot into vista for some CoD
Locky281: thanks anyway, bye all
redeeman: any lvm people here?
GNU\colossus: lvm? as in LogicalVolumeManagement?
redeeman: yes
GNU\colossus: "people" as in "users" or as in "developers"?
redeeman: someone that knows how to fix weird issues
redeeman: vgchange -ay won't activate my volume in the group
redeeman: it says the metadata is inconsistent
redeeman: and that it cannot find the volume group for some uuid
redeeman: however, if i try do it in partial mode, aka vgchange -ay -P
redeeman: it works perfectly
redeeman: but i must do partial mode for it to start and stop
redeeman: this causes it to fail at boo
redeeman: t
GNU\colossus: hm
GNU\colossus: sorry, these issues never struck me
redeeman: not me personally either, but the clowns managing this box have screwed up a lot of things
GNU\colossus: hehe
evocallaghan: lvm sucks !
Azerthoth: whois schestowitz
Azerthoth: hate it when I drop the leading /
schestowitz: :-)
Azerthoth: schestowitz Roy, I couldnt for the life of me spell Novell for some reason, had to get the channel spelling from the /whois
michaellarabel: Milyardo: Was it you that talked about a custom Phoronix Global like with a PXE boot and PTS?
Kano: i was that
Kano: as i create my own images and they are already bootable with pxe
Kano: from usb stick too, directly
Kano: for pxe only a little script is needed
Kano: installs nfs-kernel-server + dnsmasq (for dhcp+tftp)
Milyardo: michaellarabel: I mentioned someone else in the #ubuntu-us-mi channel had made one
