marcel____: hey can someone explain me how to get a shell in splashtop linux?
petter: recently upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04, and aticonfig -f --initial gives me "Unable to open /etc/ati/control, please reinstall driver" (I have tried, nothing in ati/), and "No supported devices detected". fglrx worked in 8.10 on this Radeon 3470... clues?
Kano: petter: check query
peppo: upgraded to jaunty and window resizing is extremely slow. fglrx. help!
Kano: did you try: metacity --replace &
peppo: compositing worked perfectly with compiz on 8.10
peppo: it's something that only affects 9.04
peppo: the same exact version of fglrx was fine in ubuntu 8.10!
peppo: very weird.
Kano: fglrx + perfect is something that does not combine
peppo: alt-tabbing is very slow, window maximize/unmaxamize also so.
peppo: how to enable direct rendering for fglrx?
Kano: only 9-4 works with 9.04
Kano: you know or not
peppo: Kano, yep, using that
michaellarabel: Hey guys
Kano: hi michaellarabel , it seems you bench the img. bench wrong
michaellarabel: what?
Kano: as it aborts with missing perl libary linking
michaellarabel: what benchmark?
Kano: build-imagemagick - Timed ImageMagick Compilation
Kano: this one needs libperl-dev
Kano: at least from the error, did not look deeper
Kano: also check for the size of your temp file you use for 7zip compression
Kano: and fail when it does not have the correct size, as you bench wrong when the hd is fully
Kano: michaellarabel: i tracked down the vdrift fglrx issue to the shader = true option. if you set it to false then it does not crash, no good solution, but at least it does not stop the suites...
