nikki93: Which is the best graphics card (nvidia) for Linux use currently?
nikki93: I'll also use it on Windows just for games.
nikki93: I was thinking of NVIDIA Geforce 9800 GTX+
redeeman: nikki93: dont.
redeeman: nikki93: unstable
redeeman: i suggest you look at the nvidia linux section at nvnews forum
redeeman: you won't like it
redeeman: but best you find out before you buy
nikki93: Ok.
nikki93: So whaddya guys recommend, which card?
redeeman: i don't really know
redeeman: but it's clear that some of the newer nvidia ones, particularly 9800gtx+ is unstable
redeeman: i unfortunately have one myself
nikki93: Aw.
redeeman: it seems to not affect GTX 260
redeeman: though im not sure
Lightkey: michaellarabel: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd_firepro_v8700&num=4 "Lastly, the consumer RV770XT part was running at 780MHz with a 1GB GDDR5 clock."?
nikki93: So... GTX 260 for Linux, whaddya guys think?
Milyardo: nikki93: If you want to buy me one go ahead :)
nikki93: Milyardo: Nah, for mee! :)
monreal: "most graphics hardware" certainly still does not support KMS, even in F11
Plouj: hey michaellarabel, I think you should increase the file size in your disk benchmarks to be at least double the amount of ram in the test machines
Plouj: or maybe not, it's an idea
Kano: hi michaellarabel
ognirc: hmm, can you create a .cue for a .bin easily... I have a game image and want to mount it with daemon tools... hmm cant think
ognirc: eek wrong chan
mattmatteh: ognirc, i though cue was some proprietary cdrom image ?
mattmatteh: ognirc, what is bin ? usually that just means binary
mattmatteh: ognirc, and i thought a cdrom image should be just that, a raw umage as iso9660
mattmatteh: s/umage/image
mattmatteh: has a cut on his finger still
ognirc: iso9660 is just a type of image
ognirc: a cue is just a text of info about the binary image or something
ognirc: http://www.shivaranjan.com/2007/01/03/how-to-create-cue-file-for-a-bin-file-in-5-steps/
ognirc: nn
mattmatteh: oh
billybigrigger: hello all
billybigrigger: anyone alive?
SlickMcRunfast: a little
