Kano: michaellarabel: http://www.linuxhardware.org/nvclock/
Kano: michaellarabel: NVClock 0.8 (beta4)
Kano: already in kanotix ;)
Deanjo: Ya I kinda was giving Tbird the gears about it being nice to have a release done 1 year after the last.
Deanjo: There is going to be some new functionality added to it as well in the future such as vdpau info
Kano: thats critical to package
Kano: because then you need to have the correct lib preinstalled
JayF: hi guys :o)
Kano: michaellarabel: did you know that ubuntu DISALBED ath5k in kernel 2.6.27? It was disabled in 2.6.28 too up to a commit 2 days ago
Kano: so it is not possible to comment about ath5k with the standard ubuntu kernel
Kano: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=ubuntu/ubuntu-jaunty.git;a=commitdiff;h=6c881c0b9ad95d8c32d0d61a60edbc641f0a7484
Kano: this is enabled now, but in no official kernel package
Kano: (i used to enabled ath5k with a little help of sed for my kernels)
redeeman: Kano: what capture card do you have?
Kano: dvb?
redeeman: yes
Kano: Terratec 1200-C (first model)
redeeman: it does mpeg4?
Kano: for DVB-C (and basically DVB-T too) there is only one protocol, that can be used for mpeg2 and mpeg4 avc (h264)
Kano: that DVB-S2 is a bit different, it is more compact than DVB-S, but it is not restricted to h264 of course
Roberth: is there any way to convert a ext3 filesystem to ext4?
Deanjo: There is a utility IIRC
Roberth: yeah I found something, typically after asking about it on irc:P
Roberth: http://ext4.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Ext4_Howto
Roberth: but the question now is, how safe is it?
Deanjo: As with anything, backups are always recommended
Roberth: uhhh
Roberth: we are talking about a filesystem with almost 1 TB of data....
Deanjo: Hey, nothing is 100% guaranteed that it will work
Kano: read the NOTE at the end
Deanjo: In "theory" stuff should go fine but that is by no means guaranteed
Roberth: michaellarabel: as shown in grub2's svn changelog, grub2 has received a new font engine
Roberth: michaellarabel: http://svn.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/trunk/grub2/ChangeLog?revision=1937&root=grub&view=markup
michaellarabel: Roberth: Thanks for the notice
Kano: michaellarabel: did you get the hint about ath5k?
Kano: i can give you kernels with enabled ath5k if needed
michaellarabel: Kano: Yes, that one mention of ath5k was a typo
Roberth: michaellarabel: pidgin user survey, http://www.pidgin.im/survey/index.php?sid=84494
Kano: Deanjo: do you know where the source is for smokin-guns? as the binary does not run here
Deanjo: no idea
Deanjo: might want to check in the forums there.
Deanjo: http://www.smokin-guns.net/viewtopic.php?t=1416
Deanjo: http://sourceforge.net/projects/smokinguns/
Kano: thank there is the engine
Deanjo: Wonder if it has a brothel ? :D
michaellarabel: ooo perhaps smokin-guns for PTS
Deanjo: heh, how did I guess that was coming
Kano: Deanjo: got it running, seem to be cs just in the wild west. but i do not like those group games.
Deanjo: Not going to announce the new beta of nvclock michaellarabel ?
Kano: well it has a deathmatch mode too it seems
michaellarabel: Deanjo: Know of any better mirrors for Smokin Guns that supports direct linking?
Deanjo: hmmm, is there not prebuilts on the sourceforge site?
Kano: Deanjo: btw. did you get the source? you can build sse2 optimized binaries very easy
Deanjo: Ya I got it. Getting the packages built right now for opensuse
michaellarabel: Deanjo: Nope
Deanjo: Hmmm, I haven't looked for mirrors yet. I'll see if I can find any
Kano: cd ./code && perl ./unix/cons -- vm sse2
Kano: works only with svn
Kano: http://smokinguns.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/smokinguns/stable.tar.gz?view=tar
Deanjo: ready for spam?

Deanjo: http://gamerscrib.net/forums/showthread.php?s=4629b1d8069afdbdddc782315a4c7f91&t=2031
michaellarabel: jeuxlinux.fr is the only LInux one with direct linking I found so far, and it's slow.
Deanjo: http://www.smokinguns.fr/download/Smokin_Guns_1.0.zip <--that one seems to work here
Deanjo: Getting over 1 Megabyte / second on that one
Kano: michaellarabel: did you ever try that smartdimmer tool which is now included in nvclock?
Kano: Smartdimmer is only supported on certain (HP/SamsungSony/Zepto) laptops using a Geforce 6200/7x00Go/8x00Go. If you want support on your laptop contact the author.
