maligor: what... the ... hell
maligor: "Closing Xterm may intermittently result in either kernel panic or a system hang."
maligor: Known issues?!
maligor: must be the weirdest known issue I've ever seen
michaellarabel: The AlienArena developers didn't know they had benchmarking code in their iD-derived engine...
Deanjo: lol
michaellarabel: the timedemo mode is totally busted and I think I found the problem in their engine.
Deanjo: lol, hilarious, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTSS8E7bKXg
rvalles: Got myself a D945GCLF2 (atom 330 intel board). I'm having an issue where system (or at least one "cpu") freezes after idling for a few minutes, where it only happens if a PCI nic is plugged (tried many). in this ubuntu thread, they're having the same issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/254326 I've tried pci=nomsi acpi=noirq noapic but that doesn't seem to help.
Kano: rvalles: which kernel do you use?
Kano: did you ever try to use 2.6.26 instead
Kano: in some cases 2.6.27 really sucks
Kano: i would not use any options for 2.6.26 when trying
rvalles: kano: 2.6.27
rvalles: .1, but that shouldn't matter
rvalles: the same issue happens with a livecd
rvalles: that still uses 2.6.26
rvalles: (sysresccd)
