September 09, 2011 -- While we have reviewed several graphics cards from AMD's Radeon HD 6000 series, one of the GPUs in this latest family that we have not benchmarked previously is the Radeon HD 6450. The AMD Radeon HD 6450 is the lowest-end offering in this family, but how's its performance relative to other low-end AMD and NVIDIA parts? In this review we have a PowerColor Radeon HD 6450 1GB and are seeing how well this graphics card works under Ubuntu Linux.

July 27, 2011 -- Last month AMD officially launched the A-Series "Llano" Fusion APUs to much fan-fare with significantly better computational and graphics performance over the E-Series Fusion APUs and all around the new hardware being a compelling solution. On launch-day we delivered AMD A8-3500M benchmarks as we managed to procure remote access to one of the AMD Llano systems from a third-party, and we also delivered benchmarks of the Radeon HD 6620G that are found on that APU. We have now finally been sent over a Llano APU and motherboard from AMD so we are able to conduct our own set of in-depth Llano Linux tests. In this review we are examining the Radeon HD 6550D graphics capabilities on the AMD A8-3850 APU.

July 12, 2011 -- Up for review today is a low-end NVIDIA Fermi graphics card, the GeForce GT 520. The low-end graphics processor it uses, the GF119, was released back in April. The graphics card only has 48 Stream processors and uses DDR3 memory with a 64-bit bus, except the cost on this creation is just around $60 USD.

June 20, 2011 -- Have you been wondering how the AMD Radeon HD 6900 "Cayman" graphics cards are running under Linux? After all, Cayman is quite different from the rest of the Radeon HD 6000 "Northern Island" GPUs and its open-source Linux support came much later. There is no reason to wonder any longer as Sapphire has sent over their Radeon HD 6950 DIRT 3 Special Edition graphics card, which we have now put through our arsenal of tests under Ubuntu Linux.

June 13, 2011 -- AMD's next-generation "Llano" Fusion APUs are launching today. Llano is a very nice upgrade over the current-generation 40nm Brazos hardware as talked about in another Phoronix article to be published in the next couple of hours, but in this article is a look at the graphics in Llano. Here's the first Linux look at the Llano graphics support and performance for the Radeon HD 6620G as found with the AMD A8-3500M Fusion APU.

June 06, 2011 -- Continuing to ensure that Linux benchmarks on the latest AMD Radeon HD graphics processors are available, the kind people at Sapphire have sent over another Radeon HD 6000 series graphics card. After previously reviewing the Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 and Sapphire Radeon HD 6870, up now is the Sapphire Radeon HD 6770. The Radeon HD 6770 (and HD 6750) up until recently was just offered to OEM builders, but now Sapphire has begun selling various products with these graphics processors, which end up being re-branded Radeon HD 5770/5750 "Juniper" graphics processors.

May 24, 2011 -- Along with the mid-range AMD FirePro V5900 workstation graphics card, which was just reviewed here at Phoronix, this morning AMD is also announcing the FirePro V7900 as their newest high-end workstation graphics card. The FirePro V7900 is a big step-up from last year's FirePro V7800 and features the "Cayman Pro GL" graphics core. Here is our initial Linux tests of this new $999 USD graphics card.

May 23, 2011 -- This morning AMD is rolling out two new FirePro workstation graphics cards, the FirePro V5900 and FirePro V7900. At Phoronix we received both of these graphics cards last week and have information on these new Cayman-derived graphics cards along with the very first Linux benchmarks of this new hardware compared to previous-generation FirePro offerings. In this review, we are first looking at the mid-range AMD FirePro V5900.

April 20, 2011 -- AMD has expanded its Radeon HD 6000 series family, with the launch this week of the mid-range Radeon HD 6570 and Radeon HD 6670 graphics cards. We were sent over a Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 in advance, but as it did not arrive until Monday, the results are only now available. Here is the first Linux benchmarks of the AMD Radeon HD 6570 "Turks" graphics processor.

April 12, 2011 -- This morning Sapphire Technology is announcing a new Radeon graphics card. It's not though part of the Radeon HD 6000 series that has recently seen the launch of the Radeon HD 6790 or even the Radeon HD 6450, but rather it's a Cypress-based part. Yes, as in the Radeon HD 5800 series. This new graphics card is the Sapphire Radeon HD 5830 Extreme and it has designed to deliver the best performance for the ~$120 USD price point.
