Looking over these results of WINE 0.9.45 through WINE 0.9.55, there were no major surprises. In some benchmarks all of the versions of WINE had performed comparably, while the largest and most consistent performance drop had come with Aquamark 3 between WINE 0.9.48 and WINE 0.9.49. With the dynamic occlusion culling, high particle count, vertex and pixel lighting, complex multi-material shader, and massive overdraw in Aquamark 3 all had about a 50% drop in the average frame-rate. This, however, is not necessarily a performance regression but further DirectX work going on and more functions being implemented. Aside from these benchmarks, we are still preparing further WINE benchmarks that will be published in the near future looking at other areas outside of the emulated DirectX performance.
