NASA's NAS Parallel Benchmarks (NPB) are one of the favorite test profiles at Phoronix for stressing processors. With these heavy scientific tests, VMware Fusion in a majority of the NPB workloads was measurably faster than Oracle's VirtualBox when both VMs were tapping all eight logical cores.

The performance was very close for the OpenMP-based FFTE test.
