Scientific Linux 6.1 was the only Linux distribution to perform not in line with the other tested distribution releases. Scientific Linux 6.1 uses the Linux 2.6.32, GCC 4.4, and EXT4 file-system, like Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, but its performance was significantly slower in this test profile that largely is bound by the file-system and compute performance.
