Sabayon 7 vs. Ubuntu 11.10 Performance

With an 8GB disk read, Ubuntu 11.10 is faster. From the disk testing carried out, Sabayon always seems to be noticeably faster when executing disk writes, but when it comes to reads from the EXT4 file-system, Ubuntu 11.10 is faster.

With two of the favorite multi-threaded compute tests, C-Ray and Smallpt, there was virtually no difference between the two distributions or when using the experimental Fusion kernel or GCC 4.5 vs. GCC 4.6.
