With the Apache web server benchmark, which is mostly about disk reads, the Ubuntu 11.10 performance was well ahead of Sabayon.

With the NGINX web-server, which again is about disk reads, Ubuntu 11.10 was noticeably faster. Both Sabayon and Ubuntu use the EXT4 file-system by default.

When carrying out a 8GB disk write, Sabayon returns to being faster than Ubuntu 11.10.
