SNA was faster than the default UXA acceleration method for the Core i7 Ivy Bridge CPU with HD 4000 graphics. For the dish demo with Cairo, Unity 6.4 with Compiz came in at around the same speed as KDE 4.9. However, the fastest desktops were GNOME Classic/fall-back, Xfce 4.10, and LXDE 0.5.11. These three distributions were noticeably faster than Unity, KDE, and the GNOME Shell.

For Cairo Performance Demos' Gears, running Unity 6.4 led to slightly faster 2D than KDE SC 4.9, but the other Linux desktops were performing much better as they are found in Ubuntu 12.10's Quantal repository.
