When this single-core notebook was under load from 7-Zip, its power consumption was comparable to that of Ubuntu Linux for the past two years.
The power consumption of the IBM ThinkPad has been flat-lined in recent Ubuntu releases -- there is not much in the way of power management to regress on with the oldest hardware when under load.
