Here are the CPU usage results. Not only does the CPU spike often when idling with Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook, but also this higher CPU usage even persists when running other applications, which causes this excessive battery drain. Now let us look at some other result values.

When running OpenArena at 1024 x 600, the Ubuntu 10.10 snapshot was slightly faster than Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. This is most likely due to the Mesa 7.7 to Mesa 7.8 upgrade. In time for the October release of Maverick Meerkat will hopefully be the move to Mesa 7.9, which should offer even more OpenGL performance enhancements and other new features.

Tremulous also ran faster on this netbook with the latest Maverick packages.
